The Shubert Foundation in New York City has announced grants totaling $30 million to performing arts organizations across the country, making this the thirty-sixth consecutive year that the foundation has increased its grantmaking.
Unrestricted grants ranging between $10,000 and $325,000 were awarded to five hundred and thirty-three national and local theaters, dance companies, professional theater-training programs, and other arts organizations, with a focus on professional resident theater and dance companies that develop and produce new American work. Recipients include the San Diego Repertory Theater, the Boulder Ensemble Theater Company, the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York, and Steppenwolf Theater Company in Chicago.
